GIS Analyst

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in the operation of the AS&M Geographic Information System (GIS); performs analysis and maintenance on models for use in the GIS; resolves operational problems and assists in training users in the department.

Integrate and update client data in the GIS database.
Prepare reports and develop custom functions to allow users to efficiently use the GIS data.
Assure that GIS projects meet objectives; analyze progress of GIS projects; recommend and coordinate corrective actions; and report on performance and status of GIS projects.
Perform other related activities and special projects, Interact with clients regarding demands on mapped information.
GIS support of current AS&M operations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Associate/Technical degree in GIS or related field; plus minimum of 5 years experience or a combination of education/training and experience. Have the ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, instructions, correspondence related to job. Perform basic business and surveying application math critical to dimensions of design, ability to deal with problems involving several variables.

· Knowledgeable of ESRI GIS software and technology.

· Understands the basics of CAD and related office software.

· Additional GIS certificate from accredited institution preferred.

A valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record required.
