John Chance Land Surveys, Inc. announces promotions

Survey company John Chance Land Surveys, Inc. (JCLS - Lafayette, LA) recently announced promotions due to expansion of the company, according to president Glynn Rhinehart. The company incorporates the latest in surveying and mapping technology. JCLS offers a broad range of land surveying services, regulatory compliance and ecological services, and airborne mapping services for a wide variety of clients in the oil and gas, electric utility, rail, and government markets.

Jimmie Stoute has been named Senior Vice President and Manager of the Terrestrial Survey Services Division. Stoute has been with Fugro for 27 years and Land Division Manager for seven years where the division has grown in services and personnel. He was part of the STARFIX® team which designed and developed this unique satellite positioning technology. He is a graduate of T.H. Harris Vocational Technical School (Opelousas, LA) with a degree in Industrial Electronics.

Russell Walters has been named Vice President and Manager of Regulatory and Ecological Services Group. These services include state and federal onshore and offshore permitting, ecological studies, and shallow water acoustic imaging. Walters is a graduate of Nicholls State University (Thibodeaux, LA) with a BS Degree in Biology and attended graduate school in Wetlands Ecology at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He successfully completed Fugro’s Senior Management training held in Leiden, The Netherlands and is currently working on the Professional Land Surveyor designation.

Blaine Thibodeaux has been named Vice President and Manager of the Airborne Sensing and Mapping Division, which operates the helicopter-based LiDAR system, called FLI-MAP®. This system is used to provide engineering-quality spatial data for clients primarily in the electric transmission, rail, highway, oil and gas, and government markets. Thibodeaux has been with Fugro since 1996 and Manager of Corridor Mapping for eight years. He is a graduate of Civil Engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and has successfully completed Fugro’s Senior Management course held in London, England.
