As impervious surfaces increasingly replace wooded and wetland areas worldwide, our lands are losing the ability to absorb water. Experts believe this is but one reason for the seeming rise in flood-related disasters. To help floodplain managers plan for and mitigate against these events, Fugro EarthData provides a full-range of high-accuracy geospatial offerings, including digital elevation models (DEMs), orthophotos, watershed delineations, and flood risk maps. Used as the basis for flood preparedness and recovery, these datasets are a critical element to effective floodplain management.
