Fugro EarthData acquired lidar terrain data at 3m post-spacing and processed the data to less than or equal to 0.3m RMSE over fifteen project lots between December 15, 2003, and April 15, 2004

German Cities

In 2004, Fugro EarthData teamed with BKS to acquire and process lidar data over the cities of Munster, Dortmund, and Dusseldorf, in Germany's North Rhine-Westphalia region. Though the region includes these and other urban centers, the majority of the terrain comprises large forested areas and fields. The BKS-Fugro EarthData team processed the lidar data to bare-earth digital elevation models (DEMs) intended for use in supporting airport assessments and planning, assessing watershed areas, identifying hazardous zones in floodplains, planning flood control, and providing information for environmental management. Fugro EarthData collected the data over fifteen project lots between December 15, 2003, and April 15, 2004.
