Southern California GeoSAR
During the first commercial IFSAR project using the GeoSAR radar mapping system, Fugro EarthData worked with NOAA and the Southern California Coastal Water Research Project in mapping 14,844 sq mi of Southern California to support initiatives to protect the area's coastal environment. GeoSAR's single-pass simultaneous interferometric collection of X- and P-band radar data yielded deliverables that included X-band digital elevation models (DEMs) and magnitude imagery, plus height error layers, void masks, water masks, and 8-bit raster magnitude imagery for use in hydrologic modeling, watershed delineation, water quality assessment, and other analyses.
