1"=400' digital orthophoto imagery showing brown floodwaters from the Susquehanna River following Hurricane Ivan in 2004

Susquehanna/Juniata Rivers

After Hurricane Ivan crossed the state of Pennsylvania on September 17, 2004, Fugro EarthData was asked to acquire film-based aerial photography to document the extents of flooding along the Juniata River, as well as the western and eastern branches and main stem of the Susquehanna River stretching from New York to Maryland. Due to the project's critical time line, Fugro EarthData supplemented airborne GPS data collected during the aerial mission with control points derived from existing USGS digital orthophoto quarter quadrangles. From this imagery and control, Fugro EarthData produced 270 natural-color 1"=400' (2' pixel resolution) digital orthophotos. Final products were delivered on schedule between September 27 and October 4.
