Ecological Services

JCLS specializes in mitigation plans, bank assessments and wetland restoration

John Chance Land Surveys, Inc. employs a staff of environmental specialists who provide clients with a variety of ecological services, many of which are sometimes required to complete the application process for environmental permits. Some of the ecological and biological services offered are biological monitoring, botanical surveys, endangered species surveys, habitat evaluation procedures, marsh management plans, wildlife management plans, and scenic river reports. Other ecological and biological services include wetland delineation and determination, wetland evaluation and assessments, leaseholder notification, oyster assessments and surveys, and mitigation plans and implementation.

Constructing replacement wetlands, restoring existing degraded wetlands, and dredge material to mitigate for the unavoidable losses of natural wetlands due to development have rapidly become important aspects of land use planning. JCLS offers a variety of services in the field of wetland sciences including construction supervision, planting, and monitoring services.

The JCLS Regulatory Compliance professionals are ably assisted by the company's survey and geographic information services (GIS) department to provide clients with a full complement of services and projects which can be completed in-house from start to finish.

Chance Land has successfully completed thousands of wetland projects including wetland delineations, assessments, and mitigation plans. We have also been involved with many projects concerning endangered species, wading bird rookeries, and other natural resources. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, JCLS has the experience and personnel to insure that all federal, state, and local environmental compliance regulations are met and maintained.
