Any company wishing to work in the shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico knows about the potential impacts and costs associated with oyster resources. Even if there are no anticipated impacts to existing reefs, the project area may impact oyster seed grounds. This can be an obstacle, both from a regulatory and financial standpoint. Our team of ecological scientists has the experience and technology to provide accurate and detailed assesments of these important resources. John Chance Land Surveys uses side-scan sonar technology to map out reefs and other potential areas of interest. If necessary, samples are taken and catagorized following the latest protocols set forth by the regulatory agencies.
